21 June 2010

Summer arrives! The news is hot! Welcome to this edition of SDRadio for June 21, 2010.

Where to begin?

Last Friday, Dave Rickards posted on Facebook asking “What are you doing July 12?” and the rest was wildfire.

Where they coming back to the air? Most likely yes.

Which station will they be on? The station, most likely in San Diego, has not been announced officially — or unofficially.

Is Dave just toying with us? Outside of radio bits, and frolic on the air, Dave’s been level with the audience.

Will Ruthie, Emily, and Chris Boyer return? It has been heavily suggested they are, as Dave posted Saturday, he’s puttin’ the band back together.

So, this week will be interesting as the speculation grows high — I can tell you that it won’t be the classic styling of KPBS-FM, it really is a Stay Tuned item.

While the return of DSC is being celebrated, Jeff and Jer have only inked a weekend radio deal set to go national. No local station has been identified. Musically missing is Mike Halloran and Chris Cantore — and the hundreds of others yearning to do their craft. If the economy is returning … stay tuned.

Happy Birthday to high-flying Cal Walker of Clear Channel Traffic in San Diego. He celebrated yesterday. Thanks Cal, many commuters cheerish your good reports …. and know if you say traffic is bad — it’s bad. See you on the radio or up on the air (when available).

happy birthday, Cal. I doubt you hear a lot of feedback, but every time you help me avoid a stoopid-o-crash, I thank you

I'm glad to hear that DSC is coming back, but I don't know that I'll ever be the loyal listener I once was (I could do without the S or B – how about the DEC?)). I've become a devotee of the Mikey Show now. It's better than I thought it would be – the 105.3 Mikey show was a beast of a completely different nature that I just didn't have any appreciation for.
