Blast from the past Q106

KKLQ-FM/AM was, for a brief time, one of San Diego’s hot AC stations. On the air at 106.5 FM and AM 600, the station was personality driven.

    Those pictures bring back the memories of how, 12 years ago the end of this month, I was in Yuma AZ buying Powerball Lottery tickets when we were told that this was our last day on the air. For my first radio job to be doing wacky things like that, doing the news in a McDonald's drive thru window, and crawling through the Narco tunnel to Mexico to buy Smiley viagra, it was a weird yet fun introduction to an ongoing 12 year radio “hobby”.
