Today ……

~~

Today, John Van Zante will step into harm’s way to prove a point. With the hot weather making its return to San Diego county, leaving your pets in the car, even for five minutes, can kill them.

John writes: “”It’s the worst possible way I can imagine for a pet to die.” That’s how a Helen Woodward Animal Center staff member described the experience when a family left their dog in their car for, “just a few minutes” while they ran into a store. Their best friend did not survive.

“That is why, each year, I lock myself in a Helen Woodward Animal Center van on a hot afternoon to demonstrate how quickly temperatures rise to deadly levels.”

Thursday is slated to be the hottest day of the week; and in previous demonstrations the temp went to 120 degrees.

This photo from the 2009 event. The demonstration begins around 1 p.m. at the Animal Center.

She’s sassy! That’s Delana part of the Star 94.1 morning show. A couple of items you may not know about her: Cooked up a winner pizza that was sold across the county. A real Southern girl and once worked in the Pentagon.

You can hear her at San Diego’s Star 94.1 with AJ In the Morning.
