Broadcast Company of the Americas Names Larry Patrick CEO
Broadcast Company of the Americas, also known as BCA Radio, today announced the appointment of Larry Patrick as CEO.
He is one of the principals of PatComm.com, based in Maryland.
BCA Radio operates radio stations FM 105.7 “The Walrus,” AM 1700 and AM 1090, the flagship station of the San Diego Padres.
Mr. Patrick, a veteran broadcast manager and station owner, has operated over 100 radio and television stations in his career. He chairs the NAB’s Political Action Committee and is active on several industry Boards. Patrick holds a Ph.D. in communications and management from Ohio University as well as a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Patrick assumes his new duties as CEO effective immediately. The management change will not have an immediate impact on any BCA Radio station operations, including formats, content or on-air personalities.
He replaces John Lynch, effective today.
Equity partners in BCA, Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, and JMI Equity, wanted a change in direction of the radio company. It is believed that the broadcast rights for the San Diego Padres have been a “financial drain on the company”. BCA also manages three stations from Local Media of America (LMA), 92.5 Magic FM, 91X, and Z90.
