Good morning from SDRadio, and welcome to the first full week of October 2010.
It all starts today — the sports station reshuffle. First off: Jim Roome (pictured) will be heard on 1360 XTRA Sports starting at 9 a.m.
Jim’s big push in sports radio started at XTRA Sports 690 in San Diego, where he started what is now known as The Jim Rome Show, or “The Jungle” The loop of the instrumental intro of Iggy Pop’s song “Lust for Life” and the instrumental intro of Guns N’ Roses’ song “Welcome to the Jungle” as the show’s signature music. The show became syndicated in 1996, and can now be heard on over 200 radio stations across the United States and Canada.
Jim’s show was previously heard on XX1090-AM. The show, syndicated by Premiere Radio returns to the corporate home of XTRA Sports 1360. Both Premiere and 1360 AM are owned by Clear Channel Communications.
The rest of XTRA’s line up includes: Chris Ello & Ben Higgins, weekdays from noon to 3 p.m. It’s followed by the Chargers Power Hour until 4 p.m.
Then The Drive with Josh Rosenberg and Charod Williams.
Over at 1090 AM, with the Padres season ending in a heart break last night, their line up changes starting today.
Scott and BR (Great Friends) (pictured) start things off at 6 a.m. Four hours later, Lee Hacksaw Hamilton takes mid-days until 2 p.m. Darren Smith and Marty Caswell take the afternoon show until 6 p.m.
Coach John Kentera‘s show lasts until 9 p.m.
Also changing is AM 1700 where Wednesday, the station on the high end of the AM dial begins as ESPN Radio.

Mark Larson has headed to Europe on a Med Cruise for the week. At his KCBQ-AM show, he has lined up guests. San Diego City Council rabble-rouser Carl De Maio guest hosts today from 7-9. He’ll host along with special guests — including some who don’t exactly agree with him.
Other guest hosts include Inga Barks who is often heard filling in for Mark Levin and Sean Hannity. Also on tap is entertainment expert James Hirsen and syndicated columnist Ruben Navarette.
Mark returns next Monday hopefully rested and ready to expand the show to 6-9 a.m., beginning October 18.
