Chris Ello at XTRA Sports 1360 has been under fire for some open honest comments he made about the SDSU Aztec and BYU game match up. The comment: “I have talked to dozens and dozens of San Diego State players over the years who will tell you without fact, or without argument, that BYU is the dirtiest, slimiest most ill-behaved football team that they play every single year,” Chris said on air. “The racial comments that are delivered during games — which would get people arrested in most parts of the world, or at least get the crap beat out of them — BYU is nothing but a front for utter hypocrisy.”

Chris, you have nothing to apologize for. Sometimes when the bandage is pulled off, and the sword of truth is told, it hurts — in this case — the other team. Your successful talk show on XTRA Sports is about fact, opinion, that you are paid for. While outside pressures call for some political pressure, really … isn’t that what you are paid to do: give highly charged sports opinion on a talk show?

Keep up the good work. Hear Chris noon to 3 p.m., weekdays.
