All California Rock Radio online

22 October 2010

Legendary music and radio figures Jeff Gonzer and Jon Scott announced the debut of All California Rock, a new internet based radio station that is already boasting listeners from across the country and around the world.AllCaliforniaRock.com is a channel that showcases both the state’s musical diversity and heritage and its almost mystical cache. Because the music evokes a California state-of-mind it’s already attracting a significant audience with renewed enthusiasm for the Golden state and its many world class attractions and destinations.
All California Rock embraces not just the signature hits of Metallica, The Beach Boys, Jackson Browne and Buffalo Springfield, but the sounds of San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, Hollywood’s Sunset Strip and San Diego’s Gaslight District—and everything in between. A salute to the California lifestyle and the music that’s made it such an identifiable cultural attraction, All California Rock pounds the beat from Disneyland to Sea World, Hearst Castle to the state capital and Universal Studios to the Golden Gate.

All California Rock’s founders Gonzer and Scott, have distinguished career resumes. Gonzer, one of the leading personalities at powerhouse KMET during its heyday as Los Angeles’ pre-eminent rock station, has become one of the city’s most identifiable radio voices. Scott, who broke Tom Petty and John Mellencamp, is well known as the record label exec who re-wrote the book on creative and occasionally wild promotions. His visits to radio with the Who and drummer Keith Moon in particular, are still remembered fondly at stations all over the U.S. and he’s boosted the career of numerous other artists.

All California Rock debuted with listeners in every corner of the U.S. and in over forty countries around the globe. “We have a wildly enthusiastic group of fans,” said Gonzer, referring to feedback received from Japan, Germany and Hong Kong, to name a few. “People around the world are re-discovering just how cool California is, and that’s also true of our U.S. audience,” he added.

“Our listeners’ feedback has a universal theme. If it’s Californian, it rocks—from The Grateful Dead, Van Halen and Linda Ronstadt to Sublime, Blink 182 and Silversun Pickups,” said Scott. All California Rock is an unabashed celebration of the Golden State’s music and culture. It embraces rock and roll from the mid-60s to today and provides an opportunity for undiscovered acts as well.
