Its been on for almost 3 months now, it’s becoming the place to be on Saturday nights from 9 to 11 p.m. 1170 KCBQ is playing music from the 50s and 60s. (Host Mike Zuccaro at the KCBQ Monument in Santee.)
Mike says the station reports good results on the program. “By far the best response they’ve had to anything in many years.”
It’s an entertaining show and a pod cast is available at SaturdayNightSockHop.
Mike adds that he is “keeping it tight and talkin’ it up to the post!

In a move that changes the sales course of four stations could be announced today. The Broadcast Companies of the Americas is expected to announce that San Diego owned and operated KPRi will handle the sales for Broadcast Company of the Americas, which include XX 1090, Walrus FM and possibly XEPE AM ESPN 1700.
This doesn’t mean the two companies, Compass Radio and BCA are merging, however. It only combines the sales team for ad sales. The stations will remain independent. The official announcement is expected today, or possibly tomorrow.
Stay Tuned

Former 91X mid day host Mookie writes:
91X had been my radio home for several years and listeners heard me grow up on the airwaves in San Diego, but due to the seemingly endless reconstruction of the station, I was told on Friday they wanted to take the midday slot in a different direction. I’ve worked with amazing people, made great friends and gained some pretty good radio chops all at the same time. Naturally, I wish all my friends at 91X well in whatever direction they are headed. I’m grateful for my time there and looking forward to new opportunities in music and broadcasting. My new email address is RadioMookie@yahoo.com. On twitter at http://twitter.com/MookieSpeaks. How Do You Handle Being Off The Air?
Jeff and Jer have been off the air since August 20, 2009. Just over 14
months if counting. Often, it’s asked if they will they be back? Where would they end up? Being off the air for the entire Jeff and Jer Showgram has actually been a path of discovery for each one of them.
Here’s some events that have happened since being off the air.
Two new babies: Emily their assistant gave birth to Reed. He’s a bouncing baby boy! Jeff and his wife Kristen have been in Ethiopia and have adopted a child.
Jerry, last weekend, was elected to the board of directors of the Humane Society of the United States of America. Their producer Tommy Sablan has started The Hopes and Dreams Academy and Nana’s Wish.
Tommy is also producing a prime time special for KUSI that will broadcast on November 16 called Oxy: What Your Kids Aren’t Telling You. Tommy is the media spokesperson for Amber Dubois’ mother Carrie McGonigle. Plus, Tommy is also a frequent speaker at the county juvenile hall. (Tommy with Laura Cain, and their friend Anita.)
Randy Hoag has a heart of gold. He has been spending his off time with his dad. His dad is going to be fine, but has been in the hospital for several weeks. In the meantime, Randy is growing a beard until his dad comes home.
The Jeff and Jer morning showgram OFF THE AIR has done many things for the San Diego community and it is a mark that continues to set the pace by giving back.

KSIQ-FM at 96.1 is off the air, except the booster station on Mount San Miguel remains on. Just the carrier is broadcasting in stereo. The situation has happened since the last rain storm; and today’s forecast calls for more. It is believed the main transmitter in Campo is off the air. KSIQ-1 cannot originate local programming. The owners are Cherry Creek Radio and are based near Denver, Colorado.

Thanks for stopping by SDRadio! See you on the radio today and here later in the broadcast week.
