Holiday of Miracles – A Benefit Concert

26 October 2010

Sophie@103.7 announced today they will host Holiday of Miracles – A Benefit Concert for Rady Children’s Hospital featuring Lifehouse and special guest Christina Perri on Sunday, December 19 at House of Blues San Diego. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with performance time at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., via www.HouseofBlues.com or the House of Blues Box Office located at 1055 Fifth Avenue, 619.299.BLUE (2583). Tickets are $30-$50. VIP tickets are also available for $75 and include balcony seating and entry into a pre-show cocktail party with Lifehouse and Christina Perri. The event is all ages.

A silent auction and raffle at the event will also benefit Rady Children’s Hospital. “Lifehouse is a class act and perfect for this event. We’re all very excited to do our first official benefit with Rady Children’s Hospital. We have staff members whose lives were changed by this hospital. We are thrilled they are the benefactor of such a fun Sophie event” says Charese Fruge, Sophie@103.7 Program Director. “Rady Children’s touches so many Southern California children and families, while performing miracles every day. It is a privilege for Sophie to be a part of raising money and telling the Rady Children’s story” adds CBS Radio San Diego Market Manager, Bob Bolinger.

For the duration of Los Angeles-based Lifehouse’s ten-year career they’ve been delicately balancing two identities: radio-ready song craftsmen and raucous live rock and roll band. On their forthcoming fifth studio album, Smoke & Mirrors, the band finally unites these two personalities. “We toured for over a year before we started making this record,” says singer and guitarist Jason Wade. “With the new album we really wanted to capture what we were doing on the road but halfway through recording, it was apparent we hadn’t focused enough on the equally important radio side. It finally dawned on us to just do both.”

At just 24, Christina Perri has already lived a handful of lives. She’s toured the world as an assistant to a rock band, spent a year at a prestigious university, became a wife and then an ex-wife, produced popular music videos, made olive oil in Italy and even served as fashionista barista in Beverly Hills. The whole while, music had been tapping her on the shoulder, trying to lead her down a path as a musician. It seems that fate grew tired of this shoulder-tapping approach as well and went for an old fashioned sucker punch.
