KSPA, programmed from Carlsbad and transmitted from Ontario, California, is dropping talk radio this month. The station, owned and operated by Astor Broadcasting is reverting back to adult standards.

Escondido base KFSD-AM, a sister station, did not stay talk radio very long when the change happened earlier this year.

KSPA, at 1510 AM, will increase their power to 50,000 watts days, 6 kw nights with a narrow window of 46,000 watts during critical time at sunrise and sunset. The station will shift city of license to Chino from the present Ontario.

KFSD-AM, at 1460 AM, has a single antenna, located next to the world-famous Stone Brewery in Escondido, The 1,000 watt station is in the north parking lot.

Dennis Prager will be the headliner at a special luncheon in Escondido today. The talk show host, heard on KCBQ, will address a group of listeners and and lunch.
The live broadcast starts at 9 a.m. and the lunch will begin shortly after the program ends. Dennis is one of the main players not only at the station, but in the Salem Radio chain.
