28 October 2009

craigcookieLast night, the place to be was downtown by Bark Park. 619Sports.net conducted a fan kick off party.

Craig Elsten and Chris Ello told the gathering of 50-plus that their mission is simple. “It’s local. It’s San Diego. It’s sports,” Craig said. Chris told me later in the evening that they love reporting on all things sports in the county, especially high school. “There are a lot of athletes in this county,” he said.

As the party continued, many fans expressed their gratitude of covering not only the Chargers, Padres, but the write ups about the Aztecs, Torres, and other sports that do not get much exposure.

Stopping by for a brief, but entertaining moment, was 101.5 KGB‘s Cookie Chainsaw Randolph. Cookie, seen wearing the coveted 619Sports.net shirt is hanging with Craig.

tony_kris_photoDetails are starting to come out about Tony Randall and Kris Rochester‘s radio plans. The former hosts of New Country 95.7 (pictured) call Nashville home.

Cumulus intends to launch their radio show from their Nashville base. The team will own the show, and the expected launch date will be mid-November. WSM-FM is expected to be part of that launching pad.

The initial roll out is expected to be less than five stations, and after a couple of months, the show could expand nationwide.

Stay Tuned!
