From KFMB-AM: “Due to the generosity and kindness of our listeners and loyal advertisers, 760 KFMB Radio’s 6th Annual Rick Roberts’ Warrior Foundation Radio-thon managed to raise more than $600,000 this year including one donation of over $515,000 to aid injured and disabled active soldiers.
“This year’s live, four-hour on-air event, was focused on raising money to fund the building of “Freedom Station,” a transition home for the wounded warriors. General Manager and Vice President Gina Landau adds, “The outpouring of generosity from the 760 KFMB listeners ensures critical support for those who risk life and limb for our freedom. It is a privilege to be partners with The Rick Robert’s Warrior Foundation in this endeavor.”
“The Rick Roberts’ Warrior Foundation was created in 2005 after Rick told the story on the air about some members of the military who were recovering at Balboa Naval Hospital and needed help. KFMB listeners responded immediately by donating $60,000 dollars. The creation of the Warrior Foundation was the result of that original effort.
“The Rick Roberts Show airs live, Monday through Friday from 5am-9am on Talk Radio 760 KFMB.”
