Listener feedback is coming back on San Diego’s new talk show hosts. Mike Slater at 760 KFMB and LaDona Harvey of AM 600 KOGO started on January 3.

Just a few weeks in, and most folks LOVE LaDona. “She’s just craft, poetry in motion,” writes Elizabeth Peskew from National City. “It’s my stop on the radio dial!” she adds. James Luthrom from Ramona emailed that “at first she would be just another Republican yes-person. She’s better than that. She’s beauty and brains all rolled up and that’s a three hour packed show.” James also added that “she’s a lot nicer than Dr. Laura.”

The kindest came from a posting: “LaDona Harvey who has been fantastic from her very first show. She’s interesting, has good voice placement, etc. I can see that she will eventually have her own national show and be very successful at it.” That ringing endorsement from one of the media professionals in town and suggest that LaDona can be “appointment radio”. The kind of radio program you make sure that the ears are tuned to.

Down the radio dial at 760 KFMB, the radio jesters have not been to kind. “Tell Mike to slow down. We may drive fast on the roads, but we can listen more carefully if he would just SLOW DOWN,” writes Bruce McFadden of Lemon Grove. Bruce said that Mike is a nice change for him, in the morning drive, but emphasized that he needs to slow down. “It is hard to follow him,” Bruce added, “and I’m just about done with the word collisions.”

Today is the day. It’s been over 17 months since the Jeff and Jer Showgram has been heard on the airwaves on San Diego. The showgram was the first “big act” radio program to leave the air — and one of the last to come back on the air.

At 7:15, JeffandJer.com will have the first announcement that Jeff, Jer, Laura Cain, Randy T. Hoag, and Tommy Sablan will start as the morning show at KyXy-FM on Monday, January 24 — next Monday.

Then, you’ll hear them at 7:30 a.m. on the Soft-Rock giant at KyXy tell the audience that they are indeed, back on the air in the town that they adopted and love.

Plus, this will be the fourth time that the team has worked for Bob Bolinger, the Senior Vice President/Market Manager of CBS Radio’s San Diego stations KyXy and Sophie@103.7.

San Diego Jack has removed their popular bulletin board. It was a place for listeners to “meet” and plan events — and Jacktivities.

Mark Larson, morning man at KCBQ-AM reminds me that he brought Cliff Albert out from the corn fields of the midwest. Mark and Cliff worked at 760 KFMB together and briefly … again … at AM 600 KOGO. Last Friday, I posted the reverse in a pictorial look back at San Diego Radio.

NBC will be bought by cable giant Comcast. In the deal, they get more than a television network, they get a slew of cable channels, a nationwide high speed data network, wireless spectrum, and an integrated structure for the 21st century. The reach of Comcast will be nationwide. While the FCC gave approval to the buy; there are conditions. In the past, those “conditions” in corporate buy outs have faded away after ten years.
