As part of a nationwide move, Clear Channel cut Chuck Cooper and and Greg Dunn.
They were fired yesterday for excelling at their job. This was part of the cutting production jobs nationwide by the broadcast group.
Chuck first came to San Diego in 1964 to KGB and was hired for the soon coming new “Boss” format. From there he went to KDEO then to KSDO later to be switched to KOGO where he basically stayed for 30-plus years.
“This man is a pure broadcasting legend now he’s gone,” a former co-worker said. “The last time he was a dj was on KPOP. There is no one that sounds like Chuck, plus he is the nicest person you will ever meet,” the poster commented. (He asked that his name not be published.
Stay Tuned.
