The Assistant will help the Station Manager with day-to-day operations at the Radio Station. KOPA 91.3 FM is a new station. It was first on the air on 2-3-11.The Assistant will produce and host a show. The Assistant will operate broadcast, recording and editing equipment. Coordinate with law enforcement, fire and rescue services and the community during an emergency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for on-site station operations on weekends and hours when the Station
Manager is not present.
• Responsible for Quarterly Issues Reports for Public File and Program Issues Reports on
which they’re based.
• Be prepared to show and supervise inspection of the station’s Public File.
• Supervise volunteer recording sessions and live air shifts in-shift.
• Operate broadcast, recording and editing equipment.
• Maintain orderly music library and program archive, including backups.
• Produce and personally host at least one show per week – format to be determined.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with all funders.
• Create, oversee and distribute fundraising premiums.
• Work with Pala IT and contract engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Coordination of remote site broadcasting including technical setup and operation of
Comrex Access portable via LAN, WiFi or 3G.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, rescue, and other first responders during
emergency broadcasts.
• Assist in long-range station planning.
