Yesterday’s power event did not result in a news brown out for KOGO. Regular programming was halted and an emergency mode started.
Cliff Albert, LaDona Harvey, Phil Fararr, and others did what KOGO does best: gather and report news.
Also noted: with KPBS-FM off air, their news reporters ‘teamed’ up with AM 600. The public station’s broadcasting facilities had no power.
KFMB-AM lost power in Santee and the studios. When power was restored at both facilities, Rick Roberts held court late into the night.

Update: The KFMB Stations, CBS-8, 760 KFMB, and 100.7 Jack FM united as one yesterday in a collaborative effort delivering up to the minute information regarding the black out.
At 3:30 p.m., CBS-8 Immediately began delivering information to San Diego residents. 760 KFMB and 100.7 Jack FM followed after back-up generator power was restored. Wall to wall coverage, on-air and online, continued on all three stations until this morning at 6 a.m.
(Thanks to Mike O’Reily, PD at Jack FM.)
