Jagger and Kristi entered their talented dog, Bodie in the Helen Woodward Surf Dog Contest. In the contest yesterday, Bodie took silver — second place — and was runner up to a veteran dog, Buddy.
Jagger wrote, “Bodie did good today in the surf dog surf-a-thon…he got 2nd place in his heat.” A tired dog after surfing wears his medal. Hear all about it on Magic 92.5 this morning.

Cox Communications has three broadcasts left on their Padre baseball contract starting today. In all, it has been fifteen years of the little station that could and set the bar for other operations to envy — and copy.
On March 13, 1997, Cox Communications Channel 4 wrapped up its first live broadcast of Padres spring training baseball when Dan Novak’s cellphone rang.
It was Padres then-President Larry Lucchino, a tough East Coast lawyer known for scathing critiques. Novak, who at the time ran Cox’s fledgling effort to produce Padres games, didn’t know what to expect. Cox’s local cable system had acquired the Padres’ TV rights just seven months earlier. It was ill equipped to produce big-time sports.

MVS to close San Diego Shops: An email went out late last week that MVS will be restructuring their company and the San Diego offices will close. The two stations in the market broadcast from Tijuana.
“After…years with MVS Radio…(Diego 91.7 formerly Exa and La Mejor 99.3) it is time to say goodbye. MVS Radio has decided to close the San Diego chapter and restructure the company and both stations 99.3 and 91.7.
The San Diego offices will be closed starting September 30.
MVS Radio is a group of radio stations owned by Mexican media mogul Joaquín Vargas Gómez through MVS Comunicaciones. The major groups of radio stations include EXA-FM, Le Mejor, Best FM, FM Globo and Stereorey and broadcast in a host of countries including Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama and the United States
