In what can be called the loosest secret, the San Diego Padres are slated to announce several broadcast deals this week.
Fox Sports will be named as the television rights holder for the baseball team. Current holder, Channel 4 ends their fifteen year run at the conclusion of Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
Also on tap is the Spanish language rights. The current holder, XEMO-AM will retain the rights in a new deal with the Mexico-based radio station.
BCA is also expected to be named the English language rights for XX1090.
All three deals are awaiting final approval from the office of the commissioner of baseball. The television rights for 2012 and beyond, have been a wide-spread secret.
