National EAS test at 11 a.m. Pacific

From FEMA:

Today, at approximately 11 a.m., PST., the Federal Emergency Management agency will conduct a nationwide test of the emergency alert system (EAS).

The test will be heard on radio and seen on local, cable and satellite TV. The test will not be broadcast on NOAA Weather Radio. This EAS test will last about 30 seconds.

The purpose of the test is to assess the readiness and effectiveness of the EAS and identify improvements to better serve our communities in the preservation of life and property.

San Diego’s primary EAS is KOGO-AM 600 and KLSD-AM 1360.
