Broadcast Company of the Americas (BCA) Vice President – General Manager Tex Meyer announced today Jack Cronin will move into the Program Director position effective immediately.
“Jack’s proven track record, professionalism, work ethic and attitude came into play with this
decision,” Tex Meyer, Vice President-General Manager explained. Jack will continue to work hand in hand with Mike Shepard, Programming/Operations Manager. Mike Shepard will continue to oversee the programming and operations of all the BCA Stations.
“Jack has been one of the best-kept secrets in spoken word programming. He’s intelligent,
tenacious, creative and has a killer instinct. I’m excited to be working with Jack as we take
XX 1090 AM to the next level,” Shepard added.
When asked about his opportunity, Jack shared, “I am very honored to be part of the XX
1090 legacy here in San Diego. There is a great foundation in place at both XX 1090 &
ESPN Radio 1700, and I look forward to the opportunity to help us build into the future.”
Tex also announced today Dwayne Taylor will oversee the Marketing, Promotions and the Digital Media departments. Dwayne has over 20 years of experience in radio marketing and promotions operations. Tex stated,“Adding Dwayne Taylor to XX 1090, The Walrus 105.7 and 1700 ESPN shows our commitment to growth in digital, revenue and ratings in San Diego.”
Dwayne began his career with Jefferson Pilot Communications in San Diego at KSON AM/FM (Country) and a few years later moved to KBZT-FM (Oldies). In 1995, Dwayne moved to Denver to work for the promotions department for Jefferson Pilot/ Lincoln Financial Media. He was then promoted to Director of Promotions for KKFN-AM (Sports) in its inaugural year. Dwayne’s Sports Marketing relationships include multiple projects with community sports teams (Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Broncos) and presenting station of major national events that have visited the region (MLB, NHL and NBA All Star Events). Dwayne helped develop many campaigns and events which became the cornerstone of the radio station including The Denver Broncos Blood Drive, which is now one of the city’s top community events.
Broadcast Company of the Americas (BCA) operates XX 1090 AM Sports Radio, The Walrus 105.7 FM, and ESPN 1700 AM. BCA continues their partnership with the San Diego Padres for another season 2012, as the flagship station of the Padres game broadcasts on XX 1090 AM. BCA continues their sales partnership with Compass Radio which operates KPRi 102.1 FM.
