The World Famous GelderHead Thought Of The Day: Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off your goals. ~ Brian Tracy Thank you for making SDRadio part of your broadcast day. This report brought to you in living color and in ((stereo)) where available. ~~ walrusWalrus-FM is simulcast on AM 1700 from 5 to 9 a.m. on weekdays. The sister and brother station to XX Sports is part of the BCA radio group. AM 1700 is also the radio home of Ray Lucia, Dennis Miller, and the Garden Compass radio show. Dave Mason chairs the morning host duties at The Walrus FM. ~~ wendyfryKPBS's Wendy Fry did something that most folks would not consider: She lived on the street as a homeless person for two nights in San Diego. Wendy told These Days' Maureen Cavanaugh, "I have been downtown to interview homeless people a couple of times and what I found is that it takes awhile for them to build up a trust with you, to actually tell you their story. And so one of the things, when I leave, every time I go down there to interview someone and I leave, I think, oh, I wish I had more time to spend with them to get their story." sleepingWendy asked Sean Sheppard the founder of EMBRACE to join her for the two nights on the streets. Wendy old me that the homeless are like everyone in society. "They may be homeless but they have networking. I was told where to go for food and find things after settling in," she said. Wendy added that while there, "I never concealed my identity, but most homeless didn't believe I was a journalist." One night, Wendy said that she also panhandled for money to buy food at a supermarket. Why? Because that was the only place to use a clean restroom. The market would only let paying customers with a receipt use the facilities. Hear the fascinating experience with Wendy at These Days' web page. ~~ From now to the end of the year, Coast To Coast AM will be live every night. George Noory has made it a point to be live during the over night broadcast. Ian Punett and George Knapp will be at the C2C desk overnight. The program is heard on KOGO-AM 600, and KFI starting at 10 p.m. each night. ~~ Missing: Jeff and Jer's web page that was previously at JeffandJer.com. The host is the same one that SDRadio uses so ... tea leaf readers are already drawing conclusions. ~~ Noted and Thanks: I enjoy listening to the home team announcing crew on Rock 105.3. Josh Lewin and Hank Baurer offer an element that cannot be beat even with the national television's "A" team. I am also happy to report that the problem noted earlier this football season with HDRadio reception. Sunday's broadcast did not have the issue with the transmission as the HDRadio signal was no where to be found during game time. Thank you for making a great game -- even better with the radio crew. ~~

Around The Morning Dial

kyxymorningKyXy struck gold when Sonny West joined the radio station. Add Susan DeVincent and traffic ace Kevin Dean it remains a one-stop information and music packed morning show. It is also one place to listen to a morning show that's kid safe. Kevin takes the culinary world on with his kitchen recipes for easy to prepare goods. The morning show starts at 5:30 a.m. and goes all the way to 9 a.m. The show is also available via smart phone on AOL Radio, and WunderRadio. Thank you Sonny, Susan, and Kevin! ~~
