Shotgun Tom Kelly is tearing the Southern California Airwaves up. Famous for his on air fun at KEARTH 101, he’s now part of the fixture at The Palm in Los Angeles.

KCBQ‘s Mark Larson launched his afternoon talk show this week. It airs from 2 to 3:30 p.m. weekdays on 1210AM KPRZ. He continues his morning 7-9 show on KCBQ 1170. Both stations are owned by Salem Commincations (Mark is a frequent guests host for Salem network’s Hugh Hewitt and Dennis Prager as well). He’s also been very active in community events MC’ing for US Senate Candidate Carly Fiorina, Fairbanks Republican Women and Michael Reagan this week. Mark also appears regularly as political analyst on KUSI-TV and is writing a monthly column for the Christian Examiner. He recently joined Political Vanguard as a contributing writer, too (www.politicalvanguard.com) Larson’s media company is also helping to coordinate PR for a special Middle East trip involving some of America’s astronaut heroes in coming weeks. They’ll be visiting our troops in several venues overseas.
Commenting on the busy daily schedule, Mark’s only complaint?
“Those stupid metered ramps out of the Golden Triangle, to 805 south. I still think we need to outsource California traffic to Disney,” he notes. “But I love radio and I have a chance to do LOTS of radio these days. It’s a blessing.”

Compass Points: Where are they now: Greg Simms, former host at KFMB-FM has left market! Greg writes: “We have moved up to the L.A. area. I start at Le Courdon Bleu in Hollywood (Sunet & Ivar) on Feb. 16th. A new career, a new chapter in life, a new time of thanks and opportunity! Radio was good to me for a long time; on to the next part of my life. I am SO excited, and planning on keeping ALL my fingers.
Ken Copper: The former host, best known for his days at KBEST 95, and KPOP in San Diego. Ken does voice over work and, even though no longer on the radio, continues to talk to people he cannot see. Ken adds, “I have it on good authority that I am busy these days teaching my grandson Dan how to burp on command. Although, I am off tomorrow. I have nothing to do tomorrow…and all day to do it in. Friday, if Dan is a quick study, I may move on to “pull my finger”. It’s that kind of dedication and attention to detail that kept me on the air in San Diego for so many years.” Find Ken at KenCopper.com.
